About us

Originally established in 2007 as the European Airlines Fraud Prevention Group, this initiative began with a small group of European carriers including Air France, Finnair, KLM, Martinair, Swiss, and Virgin Atlantic coming together to share knowledge and collaborate in the fight against airline fraud.

The GAFPG brings together industry professionals who dedicate their time and expertise to collectively strengthen fraud prevention worldwide.

Our activities

The Global Airline Fraud Prevention Group is an industry-led initiative that brings together professionals from across the airline ecosystem including airlines, payment service providers, banks, card schemes, fraud solution experts, leading anti-fraud technology companies, and law enforcement agencies such as Europol, Interpol and Frontex to actively combat fraud in all its forms.

We are delighted to announce the 28th GAFPG Summit, will take place in Rome from 11 to 13 May 2027.

The meeting will bring together airline fraud prevention professionals and industry partners from around the world to share expertise, discuss emerging threats, exchange best practices and strengthen collaboration across the aviation industry.

Our Activities

The Global Airline Fraud Prevention Group is an industry-led initiative that brings together professionals from across the airline ecosystem including airlines, payment service providers, banks, card card schemes, fraud solution experts, leading anti-fraud technology companies, and law enforcement agencies such as Europol and Frontex to actively combat fraud in all its forms.
Our mission is to foster trust, collaboration, and intelligence sharing across the global airline community in order to effectively reduce fraud and protect both businesses and travelers.

Raising fraud awareness


We are committed to combating fraud by fostering a culture of transparency and shared learning.
Through in-depth case studies, expert knowledge-sharing, and collaborative initiatives, we empower member organizations to stay informed, vigilant, and resilient.

Monthly video conference

We host monthly calls that act as open forums for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
These sessions focus on real-world experiences, current fraud trends, and shared best practices. Topics covered include:

Payment fraud (e.g., card-not-present transactions, chargebacks), Frequent flyer program fraud, Account takeover and identity fraud, Customer service fraud schemes, and any emerging fraud threats

Each session is centered around a specific theme and features insights from key industry stakeholders.

Annual meeting

In addition to our monthly calls, we organize an annual in-person meeting, providing a unique platform for in-depth collaboration, interactive workshops, and strategic planning to help shape the future of fraud prevention in the airline industry.
